Vianney Day

3rd August, 2024 | Primary Section

On the 3rd of August 2024, our school celebrated Vianney Day with great enthusiasm and reverence, honouring the life and legacy of St. John Vianney. The day was filled with heartfelt performances and tributes, bringing together students, teachers, and priests in a memorable celebration.

The event began with a warm welcome from our comperes, Ms. Caroline and Ms. Jessica. They introduced our esteemed guests, Fr. Angelo, Fr. Walter, Fr. Austin, and Fr. Christopher, setting a tone of respect and celebration. The stage, adorned with a beautiful backdrop prepared by Ms. Shama, provided a fitting ambiance for the occasion.

The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing enlightenment and knowledge. Following this, a serene and reflective prayer service was conducted by the primary teachers, Ms. Selena, Ms. Archana, Ms. Cynthia, and Ms. Jessica, invoking blessings and setting a spiritual tone for the event.

The pre-primary children delivered touching speeches on the life of St. John Vianney, highlighting his virtues and contributions. This was followed by the cutting of the cake, symbolizing celebration and joy. The staff members and helping staff offered a floral tribute and presented cards and tokens of appreciation to the priests, expressing their gratitude and respect.

The secondary section students presented beautiful handmade cards to the priests, showcasing their creativity and heartfelt sentiments. The primary section students then lit up the stage with a foot-tapping dance performance, captivating the audience with their energy and enthusiasm.
Not to be outdone, the teachers and staff members sang a few songs and put up a delightful performance, adding to the festive spirit of the day. Their harmonious singing and coordinated performance were well-received by everyone present.

The secondary section students returned to the stage with another vibrant dance performance, followed by a spirited dance by the Catholic boys from the secondary section adding a lively and joyous atmosphere to the celebration.

Fr. Austin expressed his gratitude to the committee and staff members for organizing such a wonderful program. Accompanied by a guitar, he, along with the other three priests, sang "Oh Give Thanks to the Lord for He is Good," creating a soulful and uplifting moment for everyone.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Nalini. She expressed her heartfelt appreciation to all participants, organizers, and guests for their contributions to the successful celebration of Vianney Day.

In summary, the Vianney Day celebration was a harmonious blend of spirituality, creativity, and joy. It brought together the entire school community in a beautiful tribute to St. John Vianney, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
